Homemade Vegan Bagels

Homemade Vegan Bagels

Total Time: 1 Hour and 20 Minutes | Prep Time: 15 Minutes | Cook Time: 1 Hour and 5 Minutes | Servings: 4

Ingredients
2 cups of bread flour
3/4 cups of water
1 packet of active dry yeast
1/4 cup of all purpose flour
1/4 cup of sunflower oil

Directions
1. Add bread flour, dry active yeast and water to a mixing bowl and knead dough for 5 minutes. Cover and let sit for 30 minutes.

2. Uncover dough and sprinkle in 1/4 cup of all purpose flour to remove any excess stickiness to the dough. Mix well. Note: If you find that dough is still sticky and difficult to work with, add additional all purpose flour.

3. Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Form a circle with the dough and make a hole in the center. Add to a greased plate.

4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully add bagels to water. Boil for 5 minutes. Using tons, carefully remove bagels from pot and add to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5. Preheat oven to 400F. Brush each bagel with sunflower oil.

6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bagels have lightly browned and completely cooked through.

7, Let cool, cut in half and add your favorite vegan cream cheese when ready to serve!
