2 cups of chickpeas
1 tbsp of cornstarch
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast
3 tbsps of vital wheat gluten
2 tbsps of agave nectar
2 tbsps of reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tbsps of sriracha
4 whole wheat hamburger buns
4 slices of vegan cheddar cheese
4 leaves of lettuce
4 tsps of minced red onion
1. In a blender, add chickpeas, cornstarch, nutritional yeast, vital wheat gluten, agave nectar, soy sauce, sriracha and puree until smooth. Let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Heat a large frying pan to medium heat and drizzle with oil.
3. Form 4 patties from chickpea mixture and add to pan. Cook 5 minutes per side or until each side is golden brown.
4. Add to hamburger buns and top with cheese, lettuce and red onion.
